New business models arise from collaborative interests and driven by a deep desire to connect with others and share with them Open Source innovation, data-based transparency and content modelling

Micro services

Complex applications become easier to build and maintain when they are broken down into smaller and composable pieces. Following the micro-service paradigm, each service is developed separately but works harmonically with the others within the same application.

Participatory design

In a smart city, the digital transformation only takes place only involving citizens and practices’ communities. We act in accordance with participatory design approach, pledging to actively involve all stakeholders in the co-design of services and ICT solutions.

Software and data that can be freely accessed, redistributed, and modified can be the basis of a successful business. We strongly believe in the economic potential of Open Data, designing and implementing solutions to maximize its value for public and private sector

Focusing on data...

“Communication, energy and transportation converged to create a ‘general purpose technology platform’: an infrastructure that fundamentally changes the way we manage, power and move economical activity across the value chains"  — Jeremy Rifkin, The Third Industrial Revolution

Information architecture

Coding the knowledge of large communities of practices into machine-readable data is the challenge for every sharing economy-oriented business. More, carefully designed information architecture provides an improved experience to users. Information are clustered in classes and automatically tagged with metadata by means of semantic tools.

Standards of information

We strive to the harmonization of the processes within the public administration oriented to a citizen-centric vision. Hence, our solutions draw on shared vocabularies and ontologies respecting standards (ISA² EU initiative,, …) and ensuring a consistent fruition of public services among different entities.

Research Network and Projects

Thanks to the fruitful collaboration with research institutes and technological partners, Opencontent’s solutions have been constantly improved with cutting-edge technologies such as natural language processing, linked data, machine learning, and in the next future blockchain and artificial intelligence

H2020 project aiming at developing a new Circular Economy Business Model for use of secondary raw materials in urban areas, connecting different industries, the construction sector and municipal services, decision makers and the general public with the support of a “One-Stop-Shop” service (CinderOSS) for boosting the connections among different stakeholders in construction field. OpenContent is responsible for the implementation of the CinderOSS, an innovative ICT platform for tracking and modeling the urban waste-to-product flows, on-line marketing and sharing knowledge and information along the value chain.

Interreg Alpin Space project that aims at fostering circular economy as a holistic approach to support implementation of low-carbon strategies and to provide additional 2-4% greenhouse emission reduction to partner cities. Circular economy deployment will save energy, water, re-cover critical raw materials, reduce transport-related emissions, boost the eco-innovation, create green jobs and benefit to low income citizens. Cities as biggest emissions producers and biggest energy and materials consumers will play the pioneering role by developing circular economy implementation strategies. Opencontent acts for the development of the ICT marketplace platform.

ISA² - Trentino Pilot

ISA² (Interoperability solutions for public administrations, businesses and citizens) action is a key program in the Digital Single Market EU strategy. The pilot project developed in Trentino aims at identifying models and methods to align the structured information of institutional web sites (Trentino Municipalities and the Autonomous Province of Trento) with the data standards and core vocabularies currently being defined at European level by the SEMIC group and the ISA² action. Opencontent designed and implemented a dynamic "mapping tool", which converts existing structured information in the standard formats most used by the semantic web
